While we've been waiting...

It's been a loooong road! I (Steffany) have ALWAYS wanted kids even as a kid herself. I dreamed of being a mom to a semi-large family and have always felt that motherhood would be the greatest blessing in my life. As soon as I and Danny were married, my hopes were to get pregnant pretty quickly- that it would "just happen." Month after month after month. Nothing! I decided to refocus my attention on my career.

As a Speech-Language Pathologist, there are many avenues one can take in the work field. I prefer working with children over the adult population so I became the "bread-winner" for awhile- working in the pediatric home health setting as Danny continued his education in Business. I made it my goal to understand the world of infant feeding disorders in order to be more qualified for the job I had at the time. At this point in my life, I continue to work with children of all ages who have speech, language, social and feeding disorders.

I've also focused on my side business, another passion of mine, teaching and introducing people to the holistic benefits of essential oils. I may sound like a hippy, but really I'm just proactive with my health plan. I do believe in doctors! However, if I can address an ailment with essential oils, I always try that first! A combination of modern medicine and holistic alternatives are important in our home. This picture depicts a multiple meaning of finding life's balance between work, home, and enjoyable activities with the balance required for emotional and mental health. It's significance is that through the emotional pain of not getting pregnant, I had to search for my balance and my purpose in order to help me find peace. I've been able to use a combination of exercise, travel, rest, work, scriptures, church and oils to guide me to that peace.

As for Danny, after he graduated with his Business Administration degree, he was offered a job working as a Financial Analyst for a large multinational company. When not at work, he enjoys fixing up his bikes (motorcycle and bicycles), going to the climbing gym, and playing with Addie. He has been mostly busy tending to his road bike after a hard crash that destroy
ed the bike and left major road rash on his body. Luckily, there was someone passing by to help him when he fell. As you can see, he's pretty hard core! Danny is also on the board of the Intermountain Collegiate Cycling Conference seeking to grow the sport of cycling in the U.S.

In addition to focusing on our careers and hobbies, we have made it a point to travel as much as possible, especially to local hot spots. Recent trips have included:
  • staying at a beach house on Venice beach for Steffany's 30th birthday
  • renting a house boat on the beautiful waters of Lake Powell
  • exploring the mountains and historic mines of Marysfield, UT using an assortment of off-road vehicles
  • kayaking the lovely Lake Mead with a group of friends
  • documented hidden water falls at Yellowstone National Park
  • hiking to Silver Lake with friends from Texas
  • soaking in hot springs surrounding the Vegas area
  • enduring an 8 mile hike through Canyon Lands with a new puppy
  • touring the many majestic lands of Red Rock National Park
  • exploring the beautiful Zion National Park
  • I (Steffany) have traveled to Costa Rica with friends from my side business
  • staying in a resort in Cancun where we kayaked in the ocean, relaxed on the beach, and watched the wild life
  • and many others...
We are active and adventurous, always looking for new places to visit and outdoor areas to explore. Like many others, we can be lazy and enjoy a good show or two in the evenings. Jimmy Fallon is Danny's favorite! A little humor goes a loooong ways! :-)
