~Our Letter to You~

Dear Birth Parent(s), Welcome to our story!

As we’ve pondered and prayed and written and re-written this letter, our thoughts have turned to you. We hope that you will feel our love and our light as you read about us. Truth be told, we don’t necessarily have a “fairy tale” story, but for us, it is perfect! Happy Reading!

Once upon a time…

Steffany followed her heart, moving from Texas to Utah to live with her aunt while starting a new career as a Speech Language Pathologist. It was a whole new, exciting adventure, very different from the culture and geography she had known for 26 years. But always having dreamed of living near the mountains, there was great enthusiasm for a new life.

Danny, a young man of only 21 years at the time, was getting ready to embark on his college journey and did not expect that the next few months of his life would result in meeting his future wife. A few weeks after her arrival in Utah, Steffany's cousin arranged for Danny to act as a guide in a beautiful hike. He and Steffany connected fairly quickly and soon would talk on a daily basis.

As he started school about an hour away from Steffany's home, they continued to keep in touch and even met up a few times throughout the week and over the weekends. Hiking and exploring the mountains became a common event and allowed for good conversation and getting to know each other well. Although it was challenging to live at a distance, it wasn't far enough to keep them apart.

In June of 2014, after 6 months of dating, Danny "popped" the question. The proposal was stunning! He had planned a gorgeous hike to Steffany's favorite hot springs where his friends had rushed ahead, without her knowledge, and arranged a lovely display of candles and pictures for her to see as she approached the water. It wasn't until he was on his knee that she realized that this grand scene was for her. Obviously she said yes! They were married and sealed in the Oquirrh Mountain Temple in December of 2014, the coldest and most beautiful day of the year!

We have been married for over 3 years now and have had a longing for a baby for quite some time. Despite years of trying naturally and a failed IVF attempt which ended in a heartbreaking miscarriage, we have yet to be blessed with a baby. We want so badly to be parents and know that we have much love to give our future children. We love already, wherever they are, and hope that we will get to meet them soon. We are anxiously waiting for you, dear birth family. Much love, XOXOXO
